Where does an avocado fit in to the plan?

The basis of Food Optimising is being able to fill up on lots of delicious foods which are high in filling power and low in energy density, with fruit and vegetables being the stars of this principle, particularly when reaching for those Speed Free Foods.
While most fruit and vegetables fall into this category, we’ve had a few questions as to why avocados aren’t counted as a Free Food. Avocados are crammed with healthy unsaturated fats and other nutrients which are beneficial for our health. Relative to carbohydrates and protein, fat is the most concentrated source of calories and so foods high in fat are typically high in energy. The high fat content of avocados leads them to be high in calories, so we have allocated a Syn value to them so members can enjoy them in controlled amounts to protect their weight losses.
