Some members can find that they have excess or loose skin following a very large weight loss. Everyone is different so the amount does vary from person to person depending on the age and elasticity of a person's skin.
No specific exercise is better than another for preventing loose skin. However all types of exercise, both aerobic and toning, are good for firming up your body whilst you slim and for your general health.
We always recommend that members aim to lose at a steady, healthy rate of around 1-2lbs a week and participate in regular physical activity whilst slimming. This will help to tone the underlying muscles and prevent the appearance of excess skin. While cosmetic surgery can remove excess skin, this may leave scarring and it's unlikely to be available on the NHS.
Rather than resort to surgery, many of our members learn to disguise excess skin with clothing or accessories.
